Marist Faculty Petition vs. Bill O’Reilly

Poughkeepsie, NY – Bill O’Reilly is Marist College’s most famous alum, but some would say the most infamous alum.  The recent news about sexual harassment lawsuits that O’Reilly has settled has put him under fire and was released by Fox News earlier this year in April.  In response to these developments, the Marist faculty has taken action by starting a petition to remove the honorable degree that O’Reilly was given in 2001.   Continue reading

Poughkeepsie, NY – ESPN personality Pablo Torre made a pit stop to the Marist campus on November 9th and was met with a fully packed audience made up of college students.  Torre was the first of many speakers to come to Marist this year as the annual Center for Sports Communication Speaker Series gets started.

Torre to Marist

Poughkeepsie, NY – On November 9th at 4pm at the Nelly Goletti Theatre, Marist College will have the pleasure to welcome Pablo Torre to campus to start off this years speaker series from the center of sports communication. Torre is an ESPN personality that has been seen on shows like Outside the Lines, Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption for several years now.

The Korean Fox

Poughkeepsie, NY – Every Marist student has a favorite place to eat near campus; they get hungry a lot of the time. And when they do, they turn to one man to fill up their stomachs – Steve Lee.

Steve Lee or his Korean name Seungmin Lee, owns the Red Fox Eatery located on 11 Marist Drive in Poughkeepsie. There are sandwiches, wraps, and salads that are all over the menu, even teriyaki chicken; Steve’s favorite sandwich is the “Hot 17”.

Eclipse City

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – A city in Southern Illinois is prepared for a huge intake of people in the latter days of summer and did not know what to expect. The population of this small city, 25,000 people, more than doubled during this cataclysmic event.  This was an eclipse migration to a city that most Americans have never heard of.
