It’s that time of the year again where people are out and about dressed in crazy costumes. Halloween is this Thursday, which means many Marist students will be going out to celebrate. There are a bunch of Halloween events going on in the area this week if you are looking to celebrate off campus. If you feel like making the trip, there are a few events in New York City definitely worth checking out as well.
When: October 31st
Where: Poughkeepsie, NY
Kevin McCurdy’s Haunted Mansion has three attractions: The Nightmare Experiment, FrighTrail, and London After Midnight. Only single admission is needed for all three attractions, which feature spooky characters and a terrifying trip into the woods.
When: November 2nd
Where: Poughkeepsie, NY
The zombie hunt is a real-life simulation of a zombie apocalypse. Teams will work together in the woods to kill zombies and find a cure for the victims. Live actors make up the zombies and the victims that need to be cured.
When: October 31st – November 2nd
Where: Ulster Park, NY
The price is high for a haunted house, but it includes access to eight attractions: The Lunar Motel, Glutton’s Slaughter House, The Root Cellar, Dark Harvest Corn Maze, Nightshade Greenhouse, Dr. Dark’s Black Spider Sideshow, The Feeding, and Dahlia Blood’s Manor. Coupons could also be found at Stewart’s Shops and Stop & Shop.
4. Webster Hell
When: 8pm – October 31st
Where: Webster Hall – New York, NY
Webster Hell may just be the biggest Halloween party in New York City. Thousands of people in costume will be spanning four floors dancing and enjoying the night. If that’s not enough, the person with the best costume will win $5,000 in cash!
When: October 30th and October 31st
Where: Pacha – New York, NY
Pacha NY will be having two Halloween themed nights this week. Jack Beats and Nick Catchdubs will be performing on October 30th, while Afrojack will be performing on Halloween night. Tickets for Wednesday are $25+ and tickets for Thursday are $50+. Pacha is definitely the place to be in New York City other than Webster Hell.
When: 7pm – October 31st
Where: The Chance – Poughkeepsie, NY
Missed the show on Saturday? Don’t worry! There’s another show this Thursday so head down to The Chance to enjoy another Halloween themed party!
Heading off campus to celebrate Halloween could be expensive, especially for those on a tight budget. If you find these events too costly, staying in with friends and having a horror movie marathon is another great way to celebrate Halloween. For those attending Webster Hell to win the $5,000 prize, good luck!
